In a move set to excite travel enthusiasts, Chase and Marriott Bonvoy have announced significant upgrades to their Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card.
This revamp brings a host of new benefits and enhanced earning potential, all while maintaining its no-annual-fee structure.
The refreshed Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card now offers cardholders more opportunities to accumulate Marriott Bonvoy points on everyday purchases. Cardmembers will earn 2X points for every dollar spent at grocery stores, on rideshare services, select food delivery, streaming services, and internet, cable, and phone services. This expansion of earning categories allows travelers to boost their point balances even when they're not on the road.
One of the most exciting additions is the new Travel Now, Pay Later benefit. This feature enables cardholders to split qualifying travel purchases between $100 and $5,000 into equal monthly payments without incurring interest or plan fees. This flexibility applies to direct airline purchases and stays at Marriott Bonvoy participating hotels, making it easier for travelers to manage their expenses.
The card's existing benefits have also been enhanced. Cardholders will now receive automatic Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status each year, granting them perks such as Priority Late Checkout (subject to availability) and a 10% bonus on points earned during stays. Additionally, cardmembers will receive 5 Elite Night Credits annually, helping them progress towards higher status tiers more quickly.
These new perks complement the card's already attractive earning structure, which includes up to 14X total points for every dollar spent at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels and 1X points on all other purchases.
To celebrate these enhancements, Chase is offering an unprecedented welcome bonus for new cardmembers. Applicants can earn 60,000 bonus points and a Free Night Award (valued up to 50,000 points) after spending $2,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening.
The Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card continues to offer a range of travel protections, including baggage delay insurance, trip delay reimbursement, and auto rental collision damage waiver. It also maintains its no foreign transaction fee policy, making it an attractive option for international travelers.
These enhancements are particularly appealing to younger travelers, with Chase's research indicating that the new earning categories and Travel Now, Pay Later benefit resonate strongly with Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
The upgraded Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card represents a significant step in making travel more accessible and rewarding for a broader range of consumers. By offering increased earning potential on everyday purchases and flexible payment options for travel expenses, Chase and Marriott Bonvoy are positioning this card as a versatile tool for both frequent and aspiring travelers.
